Type 14-300
Landing grids serve to secure a "harpoon" equipped helicopter/UAV (Unmanned aerial vehicle) after landing on the landing deck of a ship. The harpoon of the helicopter/UAV reaches down into the landing grid and pulls the helicopter/UAV to the landing deck so that it does not slip due to the movement of the sea.
The NATO regulated design ensures that helicopters/UAVs of the various member countries can land and be secured cross-platform. However, this security system is also used by non-member states and, increasingly, by civilian institutions.
The Type 14-300 is designed for securing a helicopter drone with a max. starting weight up to 300 kg (e.g. "Schiebel Camcopter S-100" class). Both traction and landing shock have been taken into account when designing the Type 14-300.
The diameter of the Type 14-300 landing grid is 1800 mm. Due to the lower weight of helicopter drones the Type 14-300 does not need the stabilizing structures that are normally required with other landing grids.
